Shine a Light Series: Part 2

Shining light on the lives of those who have lost their lives to this cause is my main mission. Today’s story is the life of my dear friend and classmate, Nathaniel. Nathaniel is most known for his insanely unique artistic ability. He not only was an amazing artist; he was also a very talented author and singer. Throughout high school, Nathaniel played soccer, ran track, and worked on his art. Nathaniel is also known for his intrinsic ideologies.

Nathaniel was not the typical jock, however, because everyone loved him, he was naturally a popular kid. It is because he is such a unique person everyone naturally gravitated towards him. He was one of the most unique peoples I had ever met. I always wanted to strive to be more like him in the way he lived such a carefree way.  In high school, we had the same homeroom classroom. Every morning I remember him always starting the day with something that would always spark my interest and my intellect. Looking at him you would just assume he was like all the skater boys and didn’t care about school or anything in general. However, Nathaniel was probably one of the most well rounded intellectuals I had ever met.

Nathaniel impacted my life in more ways than one. The first being his eye for art. I vividly remember in middle school I had art with Nathaniel. I was awful at art, while Nathaniel was amazing. He could think of anything on the spot and create it instantly. A second thing he did to affect me was his view on life. He was known for being atheist. I was not atheist; however, he was able to back up his ideas on life, politics, and other topics. I respected the hell out of him for this. He would never back down from a good debate. He also never backed down when it came to the things, he believed in.
